She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. “The Little Mermaid” is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. We'll have more information just as soon as we can get it. If Raven can manage to retain all the elements that made the previous games so popular while successfully implementing all their promised twists on the series, they may have a bona fide hit on their hands when the game ships this fall for the Xbox and PC. Will Jedi Academy live up to the legacy of its predecessors? Well, it's far too early to say for sure, but it sure does look like it's shaping up to be a game to watch. All we know is that the game will allow you to progress through the levels in a non-linear fashion, and that it will feature twice as many worlds as Jedi Outcast did. Lucasarts is remaining similarly tight-lipped about the game's levels. We don't have too much info on the game's multiplayer modes yet, other than Lucasarts' promise that popular modes will return alongside a bunch of new ones. Other weapons, including blaster rifles, Wookiee bowcasters, Imperial repeaters, and an Electro-Magnetic Pulse gun will be available, but come on, we all know the light sabers are where it's at in this game. As the game progresses, more exotic variations will become available, including dual sabers and the Darth Maul's double-bladed staff saber thing. Along with building a character, you'll also be able to customize your light saber, selecting from various blade and hilt designs. As for what species will be available, we're not yet sure. Players will be able choose their species and gender, as well as tinker with clothing and face skins. Players will be able to build their very own Jedi from the ground up. Perhaps the biggest new addition is the character creation options. Missions designed solely to train you in the ways of the force will eventually give way to more pressing concerns, as a mystery group of baddies begins to wreak interplanetary havoc, requiring Jedi intervention. "As they did with its best selling predecessor, Raven will bring to Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy innovative, dynamic, and challenging game play that honors the well-respected legacy of the series." Instead of taking on the role of a specific character as in the previous games in the series, Jedi Academy places players in the role of an anonymous Jedi apprentice, studying under the tutelage of Luke Skywalker and former Jedi Knight hero Kyle Katarn at the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4. "With the overwhelming success and critical acclaim of Star Wars: Jedi Outcast, continuing an alliance with Activision and Raven Software was a clear and very easy decision," claimed Simon Jeffery, president of LucasArts. Published by Lucasarts and Activision, with developing duties falling again to Raven Software, Jedi Academy looks to keep everything that made the previous title so much fun, while adding a slew of new options.
